I would really like to see this feature built into the character/login screen (and not just a 'swap portrait' thing in account settings).

It's not easy to make a good portrait. The poses are really bad and mostly just make your shoulders look scrunched up 
It is a nice little teaser of things to come in Incarna.. where we'll hopefully be able to customize our appearance to our heart's desire.

I just wish I rolled Caldari now lol..
Amarr can look ok.... Just focus on fixing that nose of theirs.

They really need to find a better solution. Requiring us to petition for a change is iffy because it puts all the deciding power in the hands of some GM. And they're likely going to be completely swamped with these petitions..
The editor is BEAUTIFUL - and there's really a lot of future potential here.. but the whole thing feels rushed. There are a lot of glitches from Sisi that have not even been addressed, there's a lack of accessories/tattoos, and a UI missing any kind of detailed documentation.
